Campus steam loop information:
Steam is generated at the Boiler Plant (just west of McKinney Center).
Most campus buildings receive steam from the boiler plant, through
piping in tunnels.
Steam is used in most buildings to generate hot water for building heating
Steam is also used in most buildings to heat domestic hot water.
Annual maintenance shut-down:
Each May, following Spring commencement, the plant is shut down for 4 days
for annual maintenance.
During this time, steam is not available for heating or domestic hot water.
