

Responsibilities:
Round-the-clock operation of two steam boilers, and associated systems.
Maintenance and repair of all boiler plant systems.
Boiler information:
Produce 100-psi steam
Fuel, primary: Natural Gas
Fuel, back-up: #2 Fuel Oil
Manned 24 hours
Steam is generated at the Boiler Plant (just west of McKinney Center).
Most campus buildings receive steam from the boiler plant, through piping in tunnels.
Steam is used in most buildings to generate hot water for building heating.
Steam is also used in most buildings to heat domestic hot water.
Annual maintenance shut-down:
Each May, following Spring commencement, the plant is shut down for 10-14 days for annual maintenance.
During this time, steam is not available for heating or domestic hot water.
